The 7th Annual Charles County Juneteenth Celebration brought together hundreds of community members for a day of culture, connection, education, and celebration. From live performances and local vendors to scholarship awards and family activities, the event showcased the spirit, resilience, and unity that make Charles County a special place to call home.

From vibrant attire to moments of recognition and reflection, the event honored the strength and contributions of women across the African diaspora.

What I kept returning to, again and again, was restraint. The horse did not perform. The subject did not overextend. And I, as the photographer, didn’t push beyond what the moment offered.
